Making a positive contribution
IT & Accounting Solutions Limited has supported charitable organisations, community projects and people in need throughout its history.
As part of this commitment, the company aims to donate 10% of its gross profits each year to charitable causes.
Our giving is overseen through the Lucy and the Horseman Foundation, an independent family charitable foundation established in 2015.
Lucy and the Horseman Foundation
The foundation was originally established under the name YOLOSOMIC, which stands for:
You Only Live Once, So Make It Count
It was subsequently renamed the Lucy and the Horseman Foundation.
The foundation provides a structured and accountable way for our family and associated businesses to support charitable organisations, community initiatives and individuals facing difficult circumstances.
Areas of support
The foundation’s charitable purposes include supporting work connected with:
- the prevention or relief of poverty;
- the advancement of education;
- the advancement of religion;
- the advancement of health and the saving of lives;
- children and young people with additional needs;
- people affected by ill health or disability;
- individuals and families experiencing financial hardship;
- older people at risk of isolation;
- families affected by bereavement, terminal illness or other unforeseen circumstances; and
- other charitable purposes considered appropriate by the trustees.
Although much of the foundation’s support is focused on Maidstone and Kent, the trustees may also support causes elsewhere in the United Kingdom and internationally.
Why the foundation was established
The foundation was created to ensure that charitable giving is thoughtful, organised and directed towards causes where it can make a meaningful difference.
It allows the trustees to:
- consider applications and requests for support;
- identify local and wider community needs;
- support both established charities and smaller initiatives;
- make grants in accordance with the foundation’s charitable purposes;
- monitor how funds are used; and
- maintain a long-term commitment to charitable giving.
Our relationship with the foundation
The Lucy and the Horseman Foundation is separate from IT & Accounting Solutions Limited and is governed by its own trustees.
IT & Accounting Solutions Limited supports the foundation through charitable donations, professional assistance and a continuing commitment to allocate part of the company’s profits to charitable purposes.
Decisions about grants and charitable support are made by the foundation’s trustees in accordance with its governing documents and grant-making policies.
